I just took the dat on june 2nd and didn't do as well as i thought I could. I did get fraped and it killed my score. I was scoring in the 24 range in RC on my practice tests and ended up with a 18 on the test. My scores were:
PA 20
RC 18
BIO 20
GC 17 much lower than expected
OC 20
QR 17
TS 19
AA 18
I played sports in undergrad and ended up with a 3.08 gpa, but completed my masters with a 4.0. My father is a dentist and I have very strong LOR, shadow and extracurricular. My plan is to take the test again on Sept. 2 and only submit it to the 5 schools they let me and see how I do. If I do much better I'll just have it sent out to the other 12 schools i applied to and if not I just won't send it out. Do you think this is a good idea, or am I wasting my time. I'm just worried that the DAT scores I have now will be the only thing holding me back from getting in somewhere. I applied in 2006 as well out of undergrad with an even lower score, but I know I can do better than my current score. Do you think i should just stick with what I have or give it one more chance. Also, do you think schools will look down on the fact i've taken it 3 times in 3 years even though I've done better each time. Sorry for the long post and I look forward to hearing what you guys think. thanks!!
