Schools such as Arizona, U Michigan and Cooper accept very few non residents with your stats and no connection to the state. I suggest adding these MD schools:
West Virginia
Medical College Wisconsin
Creighton
TCU-UNT (new school)
NOVA MD
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Seton Hall
Temple
George Washington
Also add MU-COM and LECOM for DO schools.

Do you think my research experience at U of M would give me any advantage when applying even though I am OOS? Also, with my stats do you think I have a decent chance at MD programs or would you suggest I add more DO schools?

You are not competitive for U Michigan since both your GPA and MCAT are less than the 10th percentile for non residents. Yes add more DO schools.
