I scored 507 and GPA 3.6 and I am in a guaranteed program at a DO School. I am not planning to take MCAT again.
Should I break the guarantee and take a chance to apply out?
Please give me unswerving viewpoint.

Do you want to be a doctor? If so, why would you consider breaking the guarantee?

If you have an issue with DO, why did you enter the program in the first place? TBH, breaking a guarantee is risky for anyone, but, if you were asking with a 515/3.9, it would be understandable because you'd have a very decent chance at an upgrade. With a 507/3.6, you are very likely looking at DO anyway, unless you have some super special X-Factor, and, even then, you'd still be taking a chance.

Under the circumstances, with your stats, there is honestly no good reason to break the guarantee, unless you are no longer interested in medicine.

Thank you so much. I was not targeting MD schools only, I do not have issue with DO. I was thinking to get closer to home to reduce cost MD or DO. However I think you are correct why take chances. I don't have any X-Factors.

Take the DO and run.

Did you apply closer to home? If you did and failed to get an accept there, that's telling you something.

You realize that 60% of applicants fail to get any acceptance? Turning down one's only accept is the single biggest mistake an applicant can make.

No. Assuming that you are considering breaking the agreement to apply MD, the risk of not being accepted is greater than chance of getting in

If your agreement allows you to apply elsewhere, then you can try AACOMAS. if it doesn't, don't break the agreement. You have an offer in hand unless you fail to qualify. Then you would have a much bigger problem.

Goro, I never applied after Bachelors. Guarantee was from High School.
Vox, i was thinking MD or DO but closer to home.
MrSmile12, as soon as I apply anywhere, guarantee agreement will be terminated.

So far you all gave me same advise which makes it easier for me.

I'm assuming you're not URM. If that's the case, then definitely take the DO.
