I just started my navy GMO tour, and i feel lost in finding all the pertinent opnavinst, bumedinstr, marine corps orders. I get inconsistent answers from my corpsmen (not their fault - who has time to read all that stuff?).

So please, everyone in the know, please list your favorite websites with your favorite instructions. For instance, today i was doing a physical for a person who was screening for recruiter duty in the marines. I wanted to know what were disqualifications (all that was shown was a book with all the generic enlistment/commissioning standards but nothing specific for recruiter school). I know the easy way is to simply write, "qualified for service", but the tougher job is 1) where to find disqualifications and 2) how the member files a waiver if they want one. I know that flight and dive schools teach such procedures, but being a gmo for marines, i'm having to look stuff up for myself thus far (and so far rather unsuccessfully).

Any instructions on physicals/standards, limited duty, med boards, etc would be helpful. (and even strange topics like an instruction that says you can't be deployed while on the last few months of your final PCS (not sure if this is accurate)).

For what you are looking for try the Virtual Naval Hospital.

www.vnh.org

It has a plethora of references including the Manual of the Medical Department which has most of what you are looking for.

http://doni.daps.dla.mil/default.aspx

has all the DoN instructions.

Ask your Division or Regiment surgeon for help.

What you are looking for is the equivalent of the Navy NAVMED P-117 Chapter 15. It is our manual consisting of general enlistment and commisioning standards as well as special duty standards. My guess is that if it is not a special duty examination then you are following general duty standards and declaring them either NPQ( Not physicaly qualified) or PQ. Good luck!

thanks guys for your help!

thanks NavyFP for the links!
