I am going to finalize my ROL soon for NRMP, I need help getting input regarding programs I ranked. Please feel free to give me your independent and honest opinion about the programs I am ranking, please suggest if you would like any programs to be re ordered based on extra information you may have about any program. This would be a much needed help for me, so please maximum participation requested.

I would like to get input based on three things

1) Program Stability.
2) Good teaching and reasonable working hours.
3) Location and Saftey.

My ROL

It might help if you said what residency you're applying to. Also, you'd probably get a better response by posting in the specific topic for that field.

Hi yes you are right, I should have mentioned it. This is Internal Medicine Categorial 3 years position.

Thx

Are you ranking Crozer Chester as no 2 ....as far as I know its a small community hospital in a bad neighborhood...and I think that they don't have many fellowship opportunities ...no research either...somebody very close to me did his residency from CC and was not happy with the program

I would move suny downstate up, they have alot of in-house fellowship opportunities

Any idea about Wright State program, compare to SUNY downstate ?

Aren't you posted in Upstate New York? How important is it to stay near there for your job?

Yes we have posted in upstate New York, this list I don't mentioned those 4 programs as they are final top four in our list.

However programs you see in my list I posted might change based on feedback and other criteria like good teaching, good hours, safe place etc.

Thx

Any idea about Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY compared to

7 Mountainside Hospital, Montclair, NJ
8 Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ

In the NYC Metro area, most of the ones you listed seem like community-type programs, which tend to be more malignant.

Of the NY lists (I don't know anything about PA or Ohio), SUNY Downstate has a good rep, which has gone up in recent years (they've been very proactive about creating an attractive program.)

There are some really excellent teachers at westchester medical center. Seriously, I learned a lot on my month there.
