I am taking my DATS in December and I was wondering what people do to study for the reading section on the DATS. Where can I get practice passages? Also, what are the type of passages that show up on the DATS?

Hey I just took the DAT this past saturday and I got a 24 on Reading. The passages were relatively easy to read and they were all science based. No humanities or social sciences like on the MCAT. All I did for this section was quickly read each paragraph and write down one or two words that were unique to that paragraph. I call these 'buzzwords' because sure enough they show up in the question stems. If you have the passages numbered, refering back to them takes only a few seconds.

You can practice by getting your hands on exam kracker 1001 passages book. Just do the natural sciences passages.

Do you think it was just your version that had passages only on sciences? Are there any versions with humanities or social sciences?

I'm pretty sure the RC section on DAT is just sciences. Some people talk about a passage on a piano but don't know if it's science related (ie. sound waves, simple harmonic motion etc.) I actually wish I got that passage because I play the piano. I'd have destroyed it haha.

Alright thanks. If anyone knows if there are other passages besides sciences it would be greatly appreciated.
