Hi, I am a foreign pharmacist and I got my License like a month back in GA.
I am having a hard time to find a job, I have applied at multiple places for the job openings but nothing worked out. They all reply back saying “ we have decided to pursue with other candidates”.
Can someone please guide me on how should I proceed to find a job.

Are there any further courses which I can do to add some value to my resume.

Thanks

I suspect that you are doing everything right. However, the job market is extremely tight right now. It might just take a while or you might consider moving.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I want to know are there any courses or any kind of certification which can add some value to my resume.

You could get a PharmD? But I wouldn't recommend it in this market.

If you are looking for a retail gig, you need to have immunization certification, check on APHA website for courses near you... the organization also offers mtm, diabetes education, and other crap that all costs a lot of money... As a foreign rph, it would proly help to have some of the those certifications, but I’d def do immunization if you haven’t done so yet..

I think if sending in your apps isn’t helping, you go you start calling around local independents and even make visits to hand out your CV/resume... sometimes unexpected emergencies arise and they just need someone with a license to cover so they won’t have to close down... good luck. As others also pointed out, consider moving somewhere where there is a shortage.

Thanks for the advice. I have done the APhA certification but can look for the others as well.
I can definitely visit the Pharmacies to handout my Resume.

I assume you already have a work-visa, permanent resident, or other situation where you are set to work? If you need an employer to get you a H1B work visa, that will not happen.
