need interview tips i have my interview at NYU tomorrow for the advance placement ...ne tips , do's n dont,s ...plzzz post it will b a gr888 help (i ws on the waiting list last yr )

I haven't had any interviews yet, but I guess the following general tips are good for any interview. Relax, be confident (but definitely not arrogant), be yourself, be honest, polite and enthusiastic and friendly. If they ask you something you don't know, just say so instead of bluffing because if they catch you bluffing, that is worse than saying, "I'm sorry, I don't know". Answer the interviewers' questions concisely and accurately and not in a 'beating-around-the-bush' style. Try to make eye contacts with the interviewers when you listen to the questions being asked and when you answer them.

It will be good if you have some knowledge about their program and school in general. Think of questions to ask them before you go, if you can. Hope that helps.

I completely agree with cheer up.I would also say be relaxed,confident,smile and
answer honestly and know something abt school.Be prepared to answer basic questons like why NYU? your weakness and strengths ,describe yourself,etc.

Be prepared to answer basic questons like why NYU? your weakness and strengths ,describe yourself,etc.

Very good basic questions, syk. I forgot about those. I can imagine they get asked quite often. 😀

Oh, one more piece of advice...it's a good idea not to rush into answering the questions. Take a short pause to think about the question, especially if it's a hard question, collect and organise your thoughts before speaking.

HI there Good Luck tomorrow!!!

Be ready with this because I know that every one from my batch was asked this two questions:
1. Tell me about yourself
2. Why NYU?

After they ask you those two questions depending on the interviewer the may ask you anything from your personal statement, or you previous experience in your country or here in the US or what are your plans for the future... Then they will tell you about the program and how it's going to be each year

Dress up, on time, be honest, ask questions, confident and polite

Thanks ya alll !!!!!!!!!! u guys are great ...well my interview was ok ...i guess good coz the doc just asked me 2-3 questions ..n as u said v basic ...
1)tell me abt ur self
2)why NYU ...n wat have u heard so far abt the program
3)future intentions n then he explained the program thats pretty much abt it ...he just discussed my work exp after going thru my file ...read my recommendations ...wat field of dentistry im more interested in ...i guess thats it ....
ne sugesstions for a decent thank you letter ?
