Hey guys...I just did horribly on my physics midterm and was wondering was would look worse on my transcript. To take a full time load (12 units) and have a B-/C+ for a class. Or to just drop the class and receive a "W" while only taking 8 units. Any advice appreciated.

Do not stress!! I did horribly on my first physics midterm too (I can't remember the exact score, but it was in the D range). I talked to the professor about possibly dropping the class. He wasn't helpful at all, and I ultimately made the decision to stay in the class.

After that test, I ended up forming a study group that did worked through the online homeworks together, did practice problems, and studied for exams. That group turned out to be my lifesaver! I ended up getting an A- in the class.

If you can commit the time to studying and working hard for the class, you can pull up the grade to at least a B!

Did you actually calculate the highest grade you could get in the class to be a B-/C+, or are you just assuming that to be the outcome?

At any rate, it's probably better (for more reasons than just how it will look to medical schools) for you to maintain full-time student status at your school; stick out the class if you can.

yeah i've actually calculated it and the best i could get would be a B-, but what I would likely get is a C+ or a C
