Hello everyone,

I am in college, taking Biol 1 and general Chem 2. I plan to transfer to 4 years university to take Organic Chem 1 and Organic Chem 2.
When should I schedule for DAT? After I complete Biol 1, 2... General Chem 1, 2... Organic 1,2... Phys 1,2.... ? Or when would be the best time to take DAT?
I have heard that I should take DAT right after I complete Organic Chem since those materials are still fresh in my memory.
I think I will complete those prerequisite courses around my 3rd year of Biology Major. So, when should I take DAT? and When should I apply to dental school? (after I graduate 4 years of before I graduate)
I am new on here. Therefore, I am seeking for information.
Please take time to help me . I would truly appreciate your responses.
(If you have any thing that I need to keep in mind regarding on DAT, registration for dental school, courses.... etc... I am looking forward to hearing it.)

Sincerely,

Shadowwalker

Your question is pretty vague.. When are you planning on applying to dental school? Most students take the DAT in their junior year of college, and apply before their senior year.

Either way, take the DAT when you complete all your Bio, gChem, oChem, and phys.

Take the DAT after ochem--so, for you, you'll be taking it after your sophomore year (good!). You do not need physics for the DAT.

Also, so long as you have a few bio classes under your belt, you can teach yourself the necessary info using Cliff's AP, Barron's AP, and Destroyer Bio. You don't really need to know many nitty-gritty details for the bio section, so these materials will definitely suffice.

Apply to dental school the summer after your junior year.
