Hi pre-meds and current medical students!

I just have a specific question regarding my PS.
So far, I've talked about my clinical, research and volunteer experience in my PS and how it inspired and motivated me to pursue medicine.

I was wondering if I should include this part as my motivation/inspiration:

I worked as a pharmacy technician at hospital and a microbiologist in a medical/pharmaceutical company but it did not fulfill my void.

By no means I will talk negatively on these jobs.

Anyone has similar dilemma, where they have/had a job and feel that you can do much more? Any advice is appreciated!

I think it would be ok if you phrase things in a positive way. I didn't hold jobs like that, but by volunteering in hospitals and seeing some tragic things, I did indeed get the feeling of wanting to do so much more than the frivolous things I felt I was doing. I got to observe the physicians themselves, their leadership role in the hospital setting, and the role they played in coordinating care across teams of many different health professionals -- including techs, physical therapists, nurses, social workers, etc.

You might have similar observations, or at least aspirations for the unique role that physicians have in healthcare. All healthcare positions help patients either directly or indirectly and use their knowledge of science to do it. But physicians bear more of the responsibility for managing this care, allocating the appropriate (and often incredibly expensive) resources, and coordinating actions across a diverse team of professionals.

I would find a way to weave it in articulately, or allude to it with a positive spin as the above poster mentioned.
That could be done done excellently.
