Hi,

So, I am planning on applying for 2016 cycle, and planning on taking the DAT between late July and early

August maybe.

What do you guys think?

I should apply as early as possible, but I want to have plenty of time before I take the DAT. My spring semester

doesn't end til the 16th of May, so I am planning on studying hard right afterward.

I am also aware that it takes 2~3 weeks to get the DAT results.

I am not a smart guy, and It takes me a while to study and all, so that is all I am saying.

Thanks yall. Merry Christmas.

I took it July 29th and got into 5 schools, you'll be fine! I wouldn't push it past mid August.

I would take the DAT in March or April so that you can retake it in June or July if needed. If funds are an issue, than you may want to just take it once in June/July, but that can be a little risky.

If you know you have a cusion(i.e. ability to take the DAT twice) it'll make that first DAT a lot less stressful.

Get Chad's videos. It's about 40-50$ a month. Get a notebook and go through all of the videos within a month. He also has outlines that you can print off, so you don't have to write everything down.
-Get Cliff's AP bio..3rd edition is far more relevant for the DAT than the 4th version, which is the latest.
-DAT destroyer is really good, but it truly is overkill. This takes a lot of time to get through. There are no explanations, so if you're stumped, you can ask people on the DAT forums for help.

Also, my unofficial DAT scores popped up instantly on the screen when I finished. I'm unsure if that's common or not.

I hope that helped! Merry Christmas!

End of June and only thing that kept it from being 100% complete was the DAT score being uploaded.
I heard by my advisor (wouldn't be suprirsed if wrong) that the application technically isn't submitted/received until the DAT score is received if applied before taking the DAT. Is that true?

Not sure if that is true. I had a number of schools contact me saying my application was received and that they were waiting on my DAT score to consider my application "complete" on their end. Schools usually won't look at your application until you send in your scores but they definately recieve them prior.

Submitted and complete aren't quite the same thing. You can submit your application June 1st but it won't be complete until all parts of the application, including your DAT are received and verified.
