I took my MCATs last summer and did OK but not as well as I had hoped. Taking the MCAT again this summer with all the changes and I'm trying to save my parents some money because it's definitely a huge expense. I have all my Exam Krackers books from the last time I was studying (Biology, Physics, Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Verbal). Should I invest in a whole new set of books or is it suffice to purchase books for the new added sections (Sociolgy and Psychology)? I'll probably get a new verbal book to get some more practice.

The only books that I think are really important to (re-)purchase are the Behavioral Sciences and Biology, because the latter now includes Biochemistry which was not previously included on the MCAT to the extent it will be on the 2015 version.

I do not believe you will need a completely new set of books since a lot of information is the same. If I were you I would just supplement a book for the sociology and psychology sections such as Kaplan book. Instead, save some money so you can take a couple of practice exams so you can experience the changes they have made in passages.

what I'm doing is taking online community college classes on Intro Psych and Intro Sociology. I never took these classes in undergrad and I have literally no clue about the subjects. No idea how helpful it will be, but I'm hoping to at least get a foundation in the material and a textbook to study 🙂
