Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this forum and have been monitoring the threads over the past week or so and have found that you guys give great advice! I'm quite green with respect to dental school applications and was hoping some of you could provide your opinions about my situation. I'm going into 4th year in a non science program (I'm a psychology specialist student) and am taking a victory "5th yr" lap for my undergrad. I'm the type of person who needs LOTS of time to study for something like the CDN DAT and thus am seriously considering not taking the Canadian DAT this november but attempting the DAT in February 2009. My goal is to gain admittance to dental schools in the states and in Canada for the 2010 cycle. HOwever, I'd like to leave myself room to take the DAT again if I need it (i.e. Nov 2009) and also would like my scores to be available to schools in the States and Canada (My understanding for applications is that the earliest ones can be submitted in May/June for most schools-could someone please confirm this?). So,do you guys think it's a mistake for me to not write my DAT this November 2008? Would leaving my second writing (Nov 2009 or even Feb 2010) be too late if I hope to gain entrance in the 2010 cycle?

Thanks for you time everyone 🙂

Anyone??😕

yes, american schools open up applications may/june. so if you want to get in in 2010, you need to be applying next may/june in 2009..i dont know if you can write the DAT in november 2009/february2010, since interviews are offered in the summer of 2009..definitely recommend writing this november, and if need be, then next february.
