So I'm currently sitting on a waitlist for my state school, and I'm unsure what to do if I don't get in.
Some background:
The school I'm on the waitlist for is located in the city I currently live. My wife is in grad school within the med school's undergrad, so it is a major pull for me since if I get in her and I can continue to live in the same city with her. This past cycle I actually applied to this medical school only because I don't want to spend the first couple years of marriage apart from my wife. She graduates in May 2019.
My plan right now is this: If I don't get in this go around, I will apply again this summer for this state school only and if that doesn't work again, I will apply very broadly next summer since my wife will be out of school and able to move around with me. Any advice on this? Is that a good plan or should I go ahead and apply broadly now? I'm only 23.
Stats: MCAT 510, GPA 3.6, a lot of clinical hours as an ED scribe, many volunteer hours at local free clinic, undergrad research
