Here's my situation. Last year I applied for the first time. Unfortunately I was so eager to get my application out early that I sent it before I got my MCAT score and was crushed when I got a 25, much much lower than my diags(nervous I guess). Partially out of pride and being pissed off that i had decreased my chances of having options as to where I go I decided not to send any secondaries except for a couple local schools. By the time I got my score it was too late to pull back because the app was already released to the schools. I am applying again this year after taking the MCAT again (waiting for score) but have a few questions.

1) Should I still redo/revise my personal statement? I ask because although I sent the primary app I didnt go through the whole process to know if it was a weak spot. By the way, from what I was told by advisors my old PS was very good.

2) Most of my EC were done during my undergrad which I finished in DEC 04, since then I have been working as a behavioral therapist and tutor. Should I try to get into something new? Ive done volunteering, shadowing, research, medical missions abroad, leadership stuff in the past. Any suggestions?

3) Should I try to improve my GPA with postgrad classes? I finished with a 3.36 gpa, due in part to health issues during my 2nd and part of 3rd year. I did explain this in my PS but fear that some adcom will just look at the number and pass me over.

Hi boxing,
the adcoms are going to know your mcat scores anyway. they are automatically released. definitely do some revision on ps, definitely get involved in some ec to show that you are currently doing some altruistic work. don't know about the gpa question. good luck! :luck:
