hey all - i need some advice on whether I should go to some other interviews..

Basically, I have had interviews at PCO and NOVA and have been accepted into both..

Now I have interviews coming up at NECO and ICO and I'm deciding whether I should go - Each trip costs about $600-800 for travel, accomodations, etc. I've already made my deposit at NOVA.

I know that ICO and NECO are both great schools and both have LOTS of Canadians there..

What were your experiences at those schools? Will they blow me away? If not, should I just go to NOVA?

Congratulations on your interviews and on being accepted to PCO and NOVA!

Personally, i think that you should go to your interviews. Deciding where you are going to go to school and live for the next four years is an important decision and a HUGE investment. You are going to get a good education wherever you go, but you should be sure that the school that you choose is the one that you really want to be at, especially as you are lucky enough to have some options!

As for the money that you are spending to go to the interviews, $600-800 is a lot of money but think of it in comparison to the upwards of $150000 USD that you'll be spending at one of these places over the next four years. Even if your interview experiences at ICO and NECO just reaffirms that NOVA is the place you want to go, I don't think that is a waste of money.

I don't want to sway you one way or another, because I know that choosing an OD school is a really personal decision, but I really liked ICO myself. It has everything you could need right on site (school, residence, caf, clinic....), the faculty and staff all seemed very warm and helpful, Chicago is a fun city, and there are lots of canadians there to make you feel at home! 🙂

Anyway, I hope this post has helped you somewhat... Good luck with all of your decisions!! :luck:

It sounds like you are still a tiny bit unsure of where to go, therefore I say you should go to your interviews. I felt the opposite of the previous post...I didn't fall in love with ICO when I was there but I loved NECO after my visit. I have lived in both Boston and Chicago before so I already knew I liked both cities. You could also look at it as a way to see more cool cities. I think ICO has a student host program, which would make things cheaper, not sure if NECO does. You never know..until you go!
