Hey Everyone I was hopig to get an opinion from a few of you, so heres my situation; im not sure if i should just wait till next cycle or if i should try and squeeze my application in this cycle and still have a semi decent chance. I have a 3.53 cgpa and a 3.5 sgpa and can take the dat in august. I still have ochem II but finished the prereqs and taken a & P as well. i just started volunteering and shadowing so by the time i apply i can have about 30 hours of so each. thanks for the advice 🙂

I usually don't recommend people taking the DAT before finishing Ochem-2.
If you can finish O-chem2 and still take the DAT in Aug, you should still go ahead and apply this year. Otherwise, just wait till the next cycle.

or OP could self-teach for OChem2.

I think if you can do well on DAT, you should definitely apply this year. Dental school admissions get more competitive each year. Also, do a little research on the schools you're applying to because some would require more shadowing hours.

go ahead and apply, especially if you have the money, the DAT is not as hard as people make it out to be on here, and yes, i'm sure I could hear a ton of **** for saying that but if you haven't taken a single prerequisite I honestly believe if you studied for two months with real DAT materials you would be absolutely golden, then again everyone is different. i recommend just getting topscore and the kaplan blue book, I got decent scores just borrowing those from friends, good luck!!!!
curious as to where this thread goes....

yea thanks i just am mainly worried about waek volunteer and shadowing hours but im hoping working and going to school full time might make up for it.. hopefully...

if you think you will legitimately get a 18+ on the DAT, apply now. if you don't think you're ready, don't.
