I am currently a pre-PA student waiting to hear from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine's PA program. I attended Lafayette college and graduated with a BS in neuroscience. After graduating, I transferred into the USP/PCOM PA program in order to take the remaining pre-requisite classes. However, I 've been plaqued by the choice of med school vs. pa school. I was tempted to take the MCATs last summer and attempt to apply to both types of programs concurrently but decided against that. My same feelings are surfacing again. I think I really want to try applying to med school, but if I am accepted to PCOM, the PA program begins in June.
I think that I have become a much more competitive applicant since graduating Lafayette, but am worried about not getting in and/or not being satisfied while working as a PA. Any advice?

Thanks soo much. I read through the threads. I 've been thinking about this alot. I figure that I have absolutely nothing to loose, so I am going to set out to take the August MCATs. I know that if I don't try, I am going to regret this for the rest of my life. My family, long-time boyfriend and friends all are incredibly supportive and they say go for it. I can definitely see myself as an MD or DO... I just need to make it happen.
