I was fortunate enough to be accepted to my two top choices on december 1st, 1. Nova 2. UAB. I am from south Florida so I was really looking forward to being close to home for dental school. However, UAB has offered me a significant scholarship making the cost of attendance approximately 65k cheaper than nova. My heart is at nova but am I ridiculous to pass up this scholarship opportunity? Any input on which is the better school or any opinions on my situation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

$65 grand cheaper you cant beat that. Considering your debt in the end (with interest) $65g will go a long, trust me in the end you will be glad that you made that decision, plus UAB is good school, win-win.

Take the scholarship. Looks good on your resume, saves you money, and is probably better clinically than NOVA.

If UAB is cheaper due to the scholarship and a better school, then go there. I'm probably choosing Nova over UoP with scholarship just because money has become an important factor to me and Nova is still cheaper and decent. I also loved the environment there as well therefore it doesn't feel like I'll be unhappy. Your case is different though.

However, have you thought of decreasing the costs at Nova by living at home your last two years? That is, if you are able to commute.
