Need some help

So what do you guys think. My current strategy is to read Kaplan, not really take notes mostly just jot a little down, and then spend the majority of DAT Destroyer. From what I've read people seem to think that the best way to learn is to do practice problems and just refresh on concepts as you go through the problems. What do you think?

i think you are on the right track.

but i think you should do the following:

1) read and takes notes only on the bio section of the kaplan book, because the concepts in the destroyer in gchem and orgo are more clearer and the distroyer basically do the job on these two sections.

2)get your hands on Top Score and achiever that will provide with the practice that you need.

3) know the destroyer in and out in all the sections

4)practice, practice, practice.... as much as you can !!!

How much time do you have, out of curiosity?

I'm taking the other approach and reading Kaplan and old class notes/textbook until I know both throughly then going over Destroyer. Not to say it is a better approach, just how my brain works.

But I think it kinda depends on time. My method has been taking forever...
I might dive into Destroyer soon and see how I fair.

yea, when your test? mines in 2 weeks ..this week i'm slamming the books hard...finishing destroyer, hitting chem, o chem, and bio real hard...working on kaplan sectionals for qr...my main focus is the sciences cuz i'm weak at them...taking achiever 2 on saturday...i'm not looking forward to it but now...fear is my motivation...lol...next week, i'm reviewing

My exam date is Aug 18th and so far I've gone over the Bio and half gen chem sections of Kaplan. I did outline the Bio section but have just been reading the gen chem section and writing down formulas.

I have topscore pro and achiever along with Barrons for PAT. One of my friends also gave me all his Kaplan "Subject Tests", I don't know if they are the ones given out in the Kaplan DAT course.

But yeah I have ~7 weeks left as of right now, and I've been trying to cover 3-4 sections of Kaplan/ day.

you are in the right direction. keep it up. try more practice on the gen chem and orgo, taht is the only way to survive the 90 minutes given for the sciences... practice practise practise till you get it in ur head.

increase you studies in the last two weeks.

I think that u still have time. U should really study also ur weak parts. Practice some more of the QR or the RC not only the sciences. But the best way is to read each problem very carefully in the destroyer and practice some Achiever exams they will challenge u and It will give u the proper information that u would need for the exam date. begin to time yourself... even though the computerized exams are excellent use the Kaplen tests and time yourself because the DAT is all about Time. And like some of the people said focus on your weak spots now so that you can go to the exam postively feelling strong about all the areas.
