Need Some Honest Advice

Hey Everyone,

So I'm a sophomore at private college in east coast and am going to apply next cycle for 2011. I was wondering whether these stuff are enough. I was also wondering when I should take the DAT? This year or like next year Junior year?

cGPA: 3.70
Dat = not taken yet
Practice DAT =
PAT: 20
Gen Chem: 20
Gen Bio: 21
Orgo: NA, gonna take it in summer
QR: 30
VR: 19

Research: 2 years of clinical / lab research: 1 published paper emergency med.
Volunteer: Children's Clinic, USC Clinic
Shadowing: None yet, hopefully by this summer

I was wondering whether those stuff are enough to apply next year?
My main things I need to do is the DAT and Shadowing I think.
Any suggestions would be great.

About me: California resident
Schools to apply: NYU, Columbia, USC, UOP, Upenn, Boston, UCLA

Not only do you need them but should they not be on top of your list since, God forbid, your DAT scores end up not complementing your gpa or, after shadowing, you decide dentistry is not for you?

Yes definitely I'll be doing shadowing, it is just that this semester has been extremley tight with school and research. I'm going to devote the summer to shadowing.
As for the DAT, I am going to be taking it after summer. But the DAT scores from practice are as it is and I think I can improve on those, because the practice was taken without much studying.
Anywaz, thx for the reply. Any other suggestions?
