So I failed to study for my DAT on time and now a new cycle is coming. I finish school officially in the mid May.
I know the earlier is better but I don't know if preparing for 6 weeks straight is enough to do well or do 4 weeks more intensively and take it earlier.
4week would be taking in mid June
6 week would be taking early July
And assuming I turn in everything except for the DAT scores, would my application be delayed that much?
Also if anyone has tips how to tackle ecology section of bio.

Earlier is definitely better because of rolling admissions, but than again, if you don't feel ready enough by mid June, and say you don't perform as well as you would like, you have to wait AT LEAST 3 months to re-take which would delay your application that much more. The school i've been eyeing, MUSC doesn't look at your app until the DAT scores are in. Not sure if all schools are like that but I'd imagine most are?

So IMHO, if you don't feel ready, I would wait a little longer to be better prepared so you can nail it the first time around😀

Good luck!

I am taking mine this saturday. Hopefully won't need to re-take but just in case I'td be mid June...
So nervous😱

Seriously though, best of luck

Delaying by two weeks (six weeks vs four) shouldn't make much of a difference. DAT scores take about two weeks to process, so if you send in your application early, you'll be fine. Take it when you are comfortable and ready, otherwise you'll have to take it again 3+months later.
