Need to vent! lol anyone else having these problems? also, chances?

So, just like most of you SDNers, I've been going crazy about my application. I've been having a lot of problems with transcripts and my GPA is not yet verified.. I'm freaking out of course. Submitted my application July 1st, though sent my 2 transcripts on June 4th and 6th to get there by the time I e-submit. One of the transcripts got there mid-june.. The other was taking forever and AADSAS asked me to give it time.. Finally I sent again mid-July, express this time, and they got it right away. A week before I submitted my application, I found out that I also had to send them a certificate of completion of a pre-dental (non-credit) course that I actually took in the US. I send that by mail end of June.. Mid-july find out that they didn't get it. I ask them if they can go ahead and check my GPA since they have the actual transcripts, they say no because the application is not complete without that certificate. I re-send the certificate (from the school's registrar), two weeks later they still don't get it. Then a lady there tells me that since it's not a real transcript she will take it off my 'transcripts' section and my GPA will get verified shortly since they have all they need for that part. Yay, right? Wrong!! Next day I get an e-mail that my application will not be processed until they get that document.. *sigh*.. I call back, this girl tells me not to worry about that, that my application is being processed, but that she needs to check with the coordinator if she received the certificate. I don't hear from her for a little while, and my online application still stands incomplete. I call again, speak with someone else, who tells me that my application is actually NOT being processed, that the coordinator is not currently there, and that she has no idea when she will be back..(Omg).. Then a few says later, I get an e-mail from the other girl saying that she did check with the coordinator, that they still didn't receive the certificate, but that I now can have the registrar send it to them by fax.. Ok that's fine.. I get the school to send the document by fax.. The next day I call AADSAS again to make sure that they received it this time.. The lady says that it was received (super! Finally!) So now I just had to wait until they update it online.. Ok cool.. Its been a week and my application still shows that that "transcript" is missing; I even got another e-mail "reminder" about it! Wtf??!! Ughh!! So frustrating!! My application has just been sitting there for nearly 2 months now!! I don't know what to do.. It's getting kinda late, right? Anyone else has had any similar problems??

On another note:
About me: Canadian, GPA around 3.3-3.4 I think, last 2 years have been 4.0 GPA (messed up first two years), shadowing, volunteering, and job experience all there (kind of a non-traditional applicant), good LOEs and PS, DAT AA:20/TS:22/PAT:23.. Unfortunately, I got a REALLY low RC so retaking the DAT in Oct. Is that too late?? Would they look at my application right now? I feel like I may have just wasted a whole lot of money 🙁 .. Any input about all of this is very much appreciated.

I am in similar position and am going just as insane. School sent transcript but without last semester grades (which was only three courses but they had all the others), aadsas wouldnt touch app until they got it. Took another week to get transcript request processed and mailed and aadsas has everything but its been a week and no change in status. Nothing I can do but check every morning to see if got sent out. Will call them to see if it will go out tomorrow.

LOL! Of course it's too long! If it wasn't I wouldn't have been so frustrated..wouldn't need to vent! Lool

Anyway, I basically applied to a lot of schools, most of which are big private schools that are Canadian-friendly, like NYU, BU, UDM, USC, CASE, etc.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. I can't comment on your chances because I am no adcom and I personally don't have any experience in applying late (this is my 1st time applying). However, if I were you I would try to get the certificate dilemma sorted out asap, so the GPA can be verified and app can be sent out. As for the RC/DAT dilemma, (assuming that your RC score is below the cuff-offs) you could notify the schools that you are planning on retaking the DAT in October. Some schools officially ask you if you are retaking, some schools don't so you will obviously just have to contact each school on an individual basis.

You've already paid for the AADSAS app fee and you've already e-submitted it so you might as well do anything you can to have your app ready for consideration by the admissions committees.. even if it is kinda late in the cycle. Good luck with everything.

Thank you for your advice and well wishes 🙂 The certificate dilemma finally got all sorted out today! I will let the schools know that I will be retaking the DAT.

...AND no change. Called em and got the response "we have everything and it is being processed". At this rate I will be batch # who cares when its this late.

That's the most frustrating thing, to have everything done on your end, and early nonetheless, only to see your entire application being held up by something out of your hands.

I hope so too. Just got the email the grades are verified so maybe I will make it out this Friday batch 9 (I think its up to nine). Also got one LOE that was sent out last Tuesday via snail mail so that should hopefully make it in with the app as well. Now it begins, bring on the interviews!
