I know it is late in this cycle but I have 22/23/14(PAT)🙁 in my DAT and 3.66 GPA , 3.7 non science do you think I have any chance for getting into DDS in EAst , which school do you think I can apply?

ooh that 14 is gonna be a problem. but everything else is solid...so i think you should call just a few schools you might be interested in to ask them since some schools have cut offs. which ones were you looking at?

i dont think case would work, but detroit might

still, i think you should retake and apply early next year

Hi Goat. Everything in your applicaiton is very solid, except your PAT score. If it was in QR or perhaps RC, then its not as heavily weighed, but PAT, the section thats very important in Dental School and weighed independently is low. I'm sure you know all this.

Try those schools others listed above and I wish you all the best. I, however, think it would take a miracle for it to work. You should 98% think of another plan, retake the DAT and apply again next year, try those schools, wait it out and see what happens.

I dont know if you consider a masters program, but with your stats, I kind of dont see a reason why. The downside is that you have to go through the hell of the DAT.

Not necessarily true. Many schools value RC much more than PAT, and maybe just as equally as SNS, but as most have echoed, your PAT score is low.

To the OP- Your PAT might be lower than the cutoff at almost all US dental schools. Seeing as you are an international applicant, it doesn't help your chances at this point in the game. Retake the DAT, and raise your PAT, do well this year in your courses, and get your applications out early next cycle.

Although its not terribly late, you should take into account the time it would take for AADSAS to process your application (I'm not sure if it takes longer for international students or not), sending scores, LORs, and then schools receiving and processing them. If you have your heart set on applying this cycle, you should apply broadly, that is outside of Case and Detroit. You never know!
