Guys I keep getting low scores on RC. 🙁 This is soooo frustrating because I don't even know how to improve it. :scared:
I purchased the CDR but my scores are really low 😕
Is there any RC expert out there who can give me some advice??

Thank you all. 🙁

I was having a very hard time with RC as well during my DAT studies. I was getting 15, 16, or 17 on all of my practice tests. I was trying the Kaplan method of mapping the passage, blah, blah, blah but it took to long. I decided to try just reading the first paragraph to get an idea of what the passage was about and the author's opinion. I would then read the first question and find the answer. I would not read the passage but just read one question at a time and find the answer. I immediately jumped to a 19/20 on my practice tests and I got a 21 on the RC on my real DAT. Try that out, it worked for me

This is going to sound really dumb, but I thought this was critical for my success (I got a 23 on the RC).

Like any skill, you have to practice, and reading is not any different. I would suggest reading a little bit for pleasure, or even better, pick up a newspaper and scan it.

I didn't think that the DAT asked nit-picky details, so you should really try to train yourself to be alert of "interesting" facts and figures and not worry too much about the finer points (but try to remember it's location, both in context and where it is on the page, so that if you do get asked a more detailed question, you know where to look).

Hope this helps. Sorry that it isn't exactly the secret technique or anything special.

What are the best practice materials or most similar materials to real DAT RC among Top Score, DAT achiever, Kaplan, etc. Any suggestions?
