Need verification on chemical neurolysis

Hello all. I am an author of fiction researching ideas for a crime/horror novel and need to verify a number of scientific and medical facts. The goal is to adhere to a level of realism for possible plot elements. My question is what would happen if 100% ethanol(or any high concentration) was injected directly adjacent to the lower spinal cord in a healthy human? Would it produce permanent and/or complete paralysis? Can a person survive this?
