I'd like some input onto which school I should go to.

The main thing i'm looking for in a dental school is one with a great faculty, great student body (not cut throat), and good clinical experience. In addition, I possibly want to specialize...not sure, though. What's the best option for me?

I loved the interview at OSU, everyone was so friendly and I hear they have a great faculty and student body, but their equipment is out of date

I live close to detroit so I could commute to UDM. They also have newer technology compared to OSU.

Temple has a lot of patients, and what I got from the interview was that if you wanted to specialize, you should consider temple since you get to perform many extractions, etc. etc.

ahhhhh, help ! where would you choose and why?

Cost for each school. What's your state of residency and do you have any scholarship/military/etc.?

I agree with the cost factor. Also, I wouldn't get so attached to equipment that much. Newer stuff doesn't make you a better dentist IMHO.

I didn't see UDM but I did interview at Temple and OSU. I agree with you, OSU did have a very outdated school, which maybe you should consider? I personally really liked Temple because you get so much experience. I would definitely pick it over OSU if it weren't for the fact that it's in that area of Philadelphia. I just personally really wouldn't want to live there. The area around OSU is very nice however.

I think you just need to know which things are most important to you.

Depends on what you want.

If you can commute to UDM. Living expenses will be cut down like more than half (assuming you live with your parents) and other junk that is not included in the tuition. So your debt won't be so bad when you finish actually.

If the OSU's facility is functional, then being outdated is not a problem. It will be nice to have brand new really nice equipment and things like that but it is still machines that do the same **** as others. OSU you get in-state tuition starting 2nd year, so that's something to look into as well.

I heard great things about Temple in terms of experience and coming out "ready" but yes it is in a ghetto lol.

cheapest school = school to attend.

the end. 🙂

That was one of the reasons I picked Detroit Mercy... Im still living with parents which cuts my living cost in third (literally). I only borrowing about 5k per semester for expenses (mostly Gas and the random stuffs).
