😕I'm taking Part I in Jan and I'm wondering if anyone has some good strategies for tackling all the studying. My school has given me some material, I currently have dental decks and am shopping for a prep book. I heard First aid is great and I thought about purchasing it now, but there's another edition coming out in Nov. so i'm wondering if I should wait until then to purchase, however, i'm hit with the dilemma of possibly cutting it too close to my test date. I apologize for the lengthy description and thanks in advance!

Wait until the new edition of First Aid NBDE comes out. The current edition is First Aid's 1st, thus is riddled with errors. I think First Aid for USMLE is superior to NBDE, anyhow.

I would go through decks (starting with your weakest section first), doing practice exams after you complete each section. Then improve on your weaknesses.

The key is building a solid foundation and then doing as many practice exams as possible. I can't stress that enough.

By the way- if you're not taking until Jan then I wouldn't start studying until Nov @ the EARLIEST! You will burn yourself out before the test otherwise. I studied 3-4 weeks total and thought it was enough time.

Good luck!
