I have a friend who is in a predicament.

No acceptances yet this cycle, but on one waitlist. LOI sent in and everything.

Now there is the realistic chance that this person might not get off the WL and thus have to reapply.

The question is that he has a low amount of funds to try and reapply right now to all those schools all over again. Should my friend send in his AMCAS again? Or just pray for the best on his WL chances...

If he should send in his AMCAS, then should he just put down one or two schools because of the lack of money right now and just add some more on later when he can build his funding?

Sure that will make his app late at a lot of schools, but gotta live first right?

If anyone has ever been in this situation and can post their thoughts that would be awesome, and even if you have not been but just wanna chime in, that would be nice too. Thanks guys.

i would say ride it out until the end of july sometime. i doubt you'd be at a sig. disadvantage if you submit it by then. no need to throw money at AMCAS when its just going to sit on their desk for a month anyway ya know? in the meantime, chisel that PS to the rock hard, sculpted figure that you've always dreamed about and have it ready to go. :meanie:

Here's a novel idea that could be wildly successful or a total failure. He could apply again, but only to the school that he is waitlisted at. If he does not get in off the list, he could contact the dean and do everything he could to get in next year.

In the meantime, he could work and replenish funds so that if this scheme didn't work, he would be in a better financial position for a wide ranging reapplication process.

Just a thought.

What school J-dogg? It might give us insight on his waitlist chances.
