Hi, I'm a married 21 year old with an associate degree in accounting. I had always thought I wanted to do something in the medical field but never really thought I was smart enough.
My husband and I moved from Memphis to Arkansas to attend college but we've both ended up working full time so neither of us have been able to start. I started working at the local hospital transporting for CT. I not only get to transport but I also get to help out and get some hands on expierence. Since I have started that job (about 2 months ago) I have realized how much I would really like being in the medical field. I love my job and the environment.
Now my husband and I are thinking about moving back to Memphis because he got a great job offer that would allow me not to work so I can go to school. I really want to start studying pre-med. The only thing is my GPA is not great. I know now being older and especially not having to work I can keep my grades up. How can I bring my GPA up? Also, I would like to take biology over because I had a horrible teacher that I learned nothing from. That is really the only science class I have taken.
I'm going to list the classes that may be useful for me now:
English Comp I - A
Princ of Biology -B
Lab -A
English Comp II- C
Princ of Biology II- B
Lab- A
Gen Physcology -C
Public Speaking - C
College algebra -A
Total hours: 89
GPA: 3.12
If you were me how would you begin working your way toward medical school?
