I used to be horribly afraid of needles. When I was a kid my grandpa literally had to hold me down to get a shot lol. So, I took a phlebotomy class. Passed out first night of practice! Contemplated quitting, but I knew I would have to eventually face my fear so I didn't quit and glad I didn't. I ended up loving it! Plus it's not a bad way to earn some extra money on the side through school as hours are flexible.
Point is, I think you can get used to pretty much anything if you just put your mind to it 🙂

I don't like getting shots.
I've seen a dentist post about this on dental town. Whenever a patient tells him they "don't like needles," the doctor says, "Well, good! I'd be concerned if you did!"
Seriously... who likes needles other than drug addicts? And probably they don't like them.

Your'e gonna love dschool then when you'll have to administer and receive blocks from classmates...those last for like 4-5 hours and hurt like a mother if they're not good

Oh that sounds like something awesome to look forward to... Lol
My thing is impressions.. I hate having impressions taken on me. I gag every freaking time.
Alginate impressions look rather appetizing, I'll be completely honest. Like cake icing or something. That is until they start to harden and turn into a rock. And the patient is gagging. Then it's not appetizing anymore.Oh that sounds like something awesome to look forward to... Lol

You'll learn it doesn't hurt you at all to give someone else a shot 😀
I wouldn't say I'm extremely fond of needles, but I don't mind getting shots I guess?

I hate when people say they're afraid of needles. Or they don't like getting shots. C'mon, like, really? As if anyone loves any of that stuff. As dental students we will be practicing on each other with needles, at some point. I'm not thrilled for that day, but it'll be interesting. As dentists, it'll help us sympathize more with our nervous patients 🙂
Shots are no fun but for me they aren't too bad. When it comes to drawing blood it always takes way longer than I prefer it to be.
I actually liked shots as a kid when I went to the hospital. However that was because every time I got a shot, I got candy. Is that operant conditioning? I don't even remember. I did not like the shots for numbing at the dentist, but I loved vaccines bc I received candy
Giving patients candy after injections at the dentist seems like one of the more brilliant schemes ever.I actually liked shots as a kid when I went to the hospital.
