**This is a brand new school anticipating accepting students starting this cycle! Some brief things to note:
- It has initial accreditation from CODA
- It does require the DAT to apply, recommending a minimum score of at least 16 or 17AA
- A bachelor's degree is required with a minimum 3.0 GPA

I took a campus visit on 21 June 2024. Here are some notes I took:

You may want to ask more questions about financial aid. NEOMED as an institution has been around since 1973 with a medical school and a pharmacy program (as well as other health professions programs and a research department). Among physicians practicing in Ohio, 10% graduated from NEOMED.

They also have committed to keep COA low as it is their mission and training model to train general dentists that serve the communities and dental shortage areas around mostly eastern/Appalachian Ohio. Final tuition was NOT formally approved yet, but the initial class annual tuition is $55K, with additional costs for instruments pending. But that said, they have a campus-wide financial aid office; they probably cannot help more until the final costs of attendance are approved by their board.

Entering class size is 50, and that appears to be their upper-limit. No determination on IS/OOS mix. Available proximal housing is associated with the university, and it is a graduate-only campus at the junction of an interstate (history: formed as a collaboration between Akron, Kent State, and Youngstown State) and another significant state highway.

They know that last cycle over 80 Ohio applicants went to dental school OOS. They are not worried about not filling their class if they begin early enough in the cycle. Interviews anticipated in September, pending announcement of "initial accreditation."

They are scheduling on-campus visits, but they have done virtual tours before. Let me know if you have other questions. (I am trying to get them to write-up their program description for a SDN article since their mission aligns very closely with HPSA/SDN... after accreditation.)

Did anyone get acceptance after being on the alternate list yet?

no idea, not looking at it anymore because classs size is small and tuition is cheap. dont think anyone would leave after the acceptance despite the fact is new school

Any more interview invites ?
I got an email February 10 asking me to fill out a survey to determine if I was still interested in an interview with them. I said yes, and the email said that they'd get back to me no later than February 24th with interview details

Yeah, they sent the interview invite on February 17th, and the interview day was March 5th. They said they'd get back to me with an admissions decision by the end of March. No word yet tho
