Chlamydial conjunctivitis:
* All cases arising in both adults and neonates should be referred immediately to an ophthalmologist, as the condition requires concomitant systemic treatment

They don't mention systemic abx for NG and then go on to say that only H. flu with systemic inflammation signs needs to be treated with systemic abx..

edit: found it, the answer is yes, you use ceftriaxone

drops are good for prophylaxis
but treatment requires systemic abx
checked in harrisons

i think treatment of chlamydial conjuctivitis is more aimed at preventing the development of chlaymdial pneumonia.

I think I read that the drops aren't good for preventing chlamydial conjuctivities, just gonoccohal conjuc.

I just also remember this.
first day = chemical
2-4 = GC conj
anything after that is chlamydia

GC gets the drops at birth. I dont think it gets systemic.

Neonatal chlamydial conjunctivitis is treated with oral erythromycin to prevent pneumonia.
