I know classmates have gone into this after graduation, but I can't think of anyone in my 70+ person class who did as a clinical. Not that it isn't possible, probably just few placements so luck of the draw (peds placements alone were hard enough to get, with many classmates wanting them and not everyone having the opportunity). While it would be a cool experience, from a learning perspective a more general peds placement might be better as a foundation. Experience in ICU/acute care would also be helpful. A lot of times on clinicals, if there is a NICU, you might be able to set up shadowing for a day or something like that.
