I'm taking the NERB this spring. It has been 23 years since I took any board exam. dang.

Anyway, for the endo part I have practiced on several teeth and noted that the ivorine is softer than the clear root. Any tips to avoid a little ledge at the junction?? esp on the molar. One of mine had a 'pre-made' ledge that was present before any instruments other than an endo explorer got there. What techniques have worked to smooth that out??

As far as the molar access goes, How 'straight-line' do they want it? Do they want the buccal files pretty much vertical to the axis of the roots?? I can make it look however they want. After this long I better be able to.......

Thanks!!!!

the endo part is a joke, just buy the teeth to practice on from any school that hosts the test. pretty much access with round 2,4 and clean/shape with a red diamond for the molar u want that nice triangle and vertical alignment of files no ledges or debris so just pull motion to create a straight line access. The anterior is pretty much the same measurement use lots of sealer and your fine if u think your going to be short.

I agree with the above comments. Endo is a joke. The only tip I can give you that might actually be of significance is regarding the incisal edge of the incisor. Either leave extra space there until you're done filing, or pull the file away from the incisal edge when filing. I found that when I wasn't aware of it, I abraded the incisal edge.
