E-submitted my AADSAS app this morning. Still waiting for GPA calculations and LOE from a committee and a dentist I shadowed. I am nervous about getting interviews, just wanted to see what the community things:

Im a Zoology major with a minor in chem
Science GPA: 3.98
Overall GPA: 3.92
DAT: AA/TS/PAT - 22/22/19
100 Hrs shadowing the same general dentist
300 Hrs at a job
roughly 100 hrs doing stuff with my frat (extracurricular)

I don't have any volunteer experience (except for the 30+ hrs i did with my frat at random places over the past 2.5 years) so I plan on working with the Red Cross doing relief work in Moore, OK. I figure I can email all the schools I've applied to with updated shadowing and volunteer work after this summer. I feel very pretty confident about my personal statement. I had about 7 people read it and tell me it was great so not to worried there! I also felt like I spoke in a professional manner in my committee interview so I don't think I will have a problem with interviews. Just curious if I've got a good shot. From what I've gathered on here I probably won't be in the first batch?

I think your stats guarentee you interviews for lots of places.

I'm curious about others' experiences/thoughts with EC's. I'm not sure if there is a baseline # hours or experience(s) for dental school, or what is considered "average".

And yep, from what folks are saying, I'd guess you'd be in the 2nd batch or something relatively early!

I sense attention-seeker.

no one should be nervous with those stats

haha no way! Sorry to give off the wrong vibes in here. Just nervous about e-submitting so late as to not be considered early. Also about not having copious volunteering hrs.

High GPA, relatively higher DATs, will get interviews, likely won't be in first batch.

Early is early..first batch or second no big deal. You will get interviews for sure. Don't worry. Enjoy summer!!

Listen, i am going to be honest with you... it doesn't look good.

Your lack of volunteering is severely damaging your app. Maybe look for post-dec interviews.

youll be borderline for all your schools with no volunteering. hopefully you have a safety school.

You should be worried - applying to dental school is very competitive. Some people just fall through the cracks...especially those who aren't in the first batch.
