Hi, everyone!

I am a senior in undergrad, applying this upcoming summer.

I recently attended a Health Fair this past Saturday and I had the chance to meet a couple of medical students and residents. At the end I was able to speak to a resident and she was incredibly nice, asked me about my journey and my family and got to know me a little. She came up to me when she was leaving and I asked her for her contact information in case I had any questions. She gave me her phone number to text her.My question is should I send her a text out of courtesy but I don't know what I would say but advisors encourage us to get our name known and meet people so that is why I also wanted to contact her. I imagine she's busy being that she is a resident and all but I can't help but to imagine that when I'm a resident I would want students to feel
Comfortable to ask me for advice or help or just getting to know me.
Thanks!

I think this is pretty straightforward. Text her if you have a question and remember to thank her for her time. Don't text her if you don't have a genuine question - that's just a waste of both your and her time.

Or text her now, say you don't have a question at the moment, but would like to be able to ping her if one comes up.
