Pardon, what's a DM? Is it the same idea as a fellowship?

And which market (i.e., which country) are you asking about? US is going from shortage to oversupply, unfortunately, because of AMCs introducing their cavalier 4:1 staffing idea and laying off anesthesiologists.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't quit regionals unless neuro is the only thing you could possibly be happy doing. A lot more hospitals do ortho than brain surgery.

As an aside, I know they are offered in the US, but I'm not sure why anyone would do a fellowship in neuroanesthesia, or trauma, or some of the other questionable ones unless you were going into academic medicine with the intent to build a career in that subspecialty AND were using the fellowship to land your dream job AND jump start your research career. I hope these clinical fellowships are not being done by many people. They don't really teach you new skills that you can't learn on your own on the job.

Interesting. How about regional fellowships? It seems many programs i saw have robust regional rotations, making a regional fellowship almost futile
