neuro for undergrad

So I got into UC Davis and Muir at UCSD as a neuro major at both schools. Can anyone give an account on the professors at both schools, academics, the major, etc? I've heard great things about Davis neuro but I haven't heard anything about SD neuro. I am losing sleep over this and need more input. I have visited both schools. The buildings at SD are a lot nicer than Davis but SD also feels much more fragmented and harder to navigate around. I could care less that Davis is a "cow-town" and that SD in a school on a beach. I feel like I would be more focused going to SD due to being far from home but at Davis (actually Rocklin which is near Davis) I am already established in volunteer work that I love. So I guess another question is, how are the student organizations on campus at either school? On another note, I've heard terrible things about Davis ochem and physics classes (more so about the professors and how they teach and how labs do not correlate with the lecture). Can anyone elaborate and can anyone talk about those same classes at SD? I'm asking because those will be my first classes I need to take once I transfer. I'm a transfer student btw 🙂 REALLY, any information about either school would be most appreciated!!

I can't really talk about any neuroscience classes as I have not taken any, but for the most part, I have had really great professors and a solid education here at UCSD. Of course, you are going to have your bad apples, and in terms of Physics, my professors were horrible; however, it could be a self-fulling cycle that since I am not too fond of Physics, it made me dislike my professors more so than if I did like Physics. But seriously, my Physics 1C class was more about computer programming than it was about Physics (luckily, I already had a good foundation in the material). Anyways, enough about my Physics rant. . . .

I didn't find O-Chem bad at all, just a lot of work involved. I absolutely lovedddd Ochem 3 and my professor was just wonderful.

I can't comment on clubs and social organizations, as I never joined any. Part of the reason is I am normally off campus working and do not really have time for them. Another part is that many of the organizations just seem uninviting. A lot of them seem to cater to the Asian population, which I am cool with that, just I didn't feel to welcomed to join any. Besides, I am way busy having a life outside of campus anyways. It seems like every organization here on campus is trying to save the world though. It is like, donate money to this, give some more money to that. . .honestly, I'm a poor college guy!! Actually, I consider myself more wealthy than your average college kid since I have a steady income coming in, but nonetheless, I definitely can't afford to give all my money away to help everyone! haha, ok ok enough ranting. . . .

Overall, I think the teachers are pretty distinguished and wonderful here at UCSD, there is just a lot of non-sense on campus that annoys me. I'm just here for a great education and pretty much ignore everything else. . . .
