Lets generalize just for fun here:

what is a typical neurologist personality: anal, friendly, relaxed, cerebral (what does that exactly mean)???

Are these people all research oriented and geniuses, or are they average medical students who enjoy neurology and the lifestyle and $ that comes along with it?

Good question: I know many neurologists and neurosurgeons and here's how they match up personality-wise

Neurologists: Brainy, introverted, intensely cerebral, introspective

Neurosurgeons: Extroverted, action-oriented, cerebral, etc.

Basically, neurologists are immensely bright but seem like the more "poindexter" personality type when compared to nsurgs.

Along that line, here's something someone else once wrote about a patient's tour through brain-related specialties:

A neurologist knows everything and does nothing;
A neurosurgeon knows nothing and does everything.
A psychiatrist knows nothing and does nothing;
If you get to a pathologist, it's a little too late.

Myers-Briggs type of typical neurologist: INTJ.

Off the subject somewhat, but has anyone else noticed that there is a high proportion of female neurologists who are dark brunnettes and tend to be on the attractive side?

I just matched in neurology, I'm not the introverted brainy type....
In fact the ones I met on most of my interviews have great outgoing personalities who love to talk about everything and teach. This is the kind of neurologist I am aspiring to be.
