I have been using Thieme (mostly an atlas) and it just isn't cutting it. What 2 books do you recommend? One as a boards study guide and the other as a textbook.
Is high yield neuroanatomy really "high yield"? That is, sufficient for boards?
The bulk of our neuro course is taught by Don Penney, who apparently did residencies in neurosurgery and emergency medicine, and he practices both currently, and teaches at like 3 programs. This is relevant, because anyone who does as much as him clearly loves pain and suffering. To be perfectly honest, he is flat out nasty.
On the other hand, he is the man, and I'd talk to him all day if I could.
But his packets make high yield look like no yield. If he was only allowed to lecture out of the HY book, he'd do it in one day.
