I've been waiting a long time for this...it's my third application cycle, and I finally got accepted to the University of Pittsburgh today.
I know this might be a little cheesy....but don't ever give up...I know a lot of times you think that you might not make it, but if this is what you really want to do, you can find a way. Just don't listen to all the negativity in your life. A lot of my friends and family told me to think of trying something else, like dentistry or pharmacy. I had friends tell me that I was getting too old, that it just wasn't going to happen. My undergrad advisor at UCLA told me that even if I did a post-bac and improved my MCAT score that I pretty much had no chance because my undergrad GPA was so low. Good thing I listened to her.....
For the past week, I've spent a lot of time on this board, and just reading all these posts made me feel like I had no chance. People with way higher MCAT scores and way higher GPA's were talking about how they were getting waitlisted. A lot of people with scores way higher than mine were told that they had no chance at all. Reading this board the whole week I felt really depressed and I seriously felt like I had no chance; but after today I just want people to know that you really shouldn't listen to any of the negativity on this board. A lot of people mean well, but they don't know you and your individual strengths. Numbers are only half of the game, so don't give up!
OK, I'm ranting, but I'm really happy and excited.
