Which one is on the DAT the old 5 Kingdoms (Monera, Protista, Fungi, Plantae, Animalia) or the new 3 Kingdom (Eukarya, Archea, Animalia)?

My DAT and Campbel 8th ed go by 3rd ed, but my Kaplan blue book goes by 5.

Which one will the DAT test over?

3 Kingdoms (Domains) and then 4 actual Kingdoms within the Kingdom (Domain) Eukarya

So you have:

Archaea
Eubacteria
Eukarya
-Animalia
-Plantae
-Fungi
-Protista

According to my 2009 DAT Kaplan book:

There are 2 classification systems:

1. Five kingdoms: Monera, Protista, Plantae, Fungi, Animalia
2. 3 Kingdoms: Monera, Plantae (including Fungi) and Animalia (including Protista)

I assume you will have to know both types of classifications since it's in the book? #1 is the newer classification method.

No, you will not need to know anything involving Monera (part of the now defunct 5 kingdom system). The 3 domain system (Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukarya) is what has been in use for over 10 years (yes I realize it was introduced in 1990, but I don't think it went into full use everywhere at the same time).

This is merely something that needs severe updating in the Kaplan book.
