like some of you, i checked my status at the upenn website and discovered that my MCAT scores were missing. i'll called around today to discover all my files were on hold because it was incomplete with no MCAT scores. anyway, the point is that you all should check up on this. i talked to joy at MCAT (AMCAS was closed) who relayed it was an AMCAS problem. they have already e-mailed schools about this (although no med school has heard of the problem). it will be fixed in the next couple days and the scores will be transmitted. take their words as you will, i thought you all should know.

Actually, I spoke with Joy as well. She told me that the scores will only be transmitted with the complete application, whenever that is ready. Bruno, did she tell you they will be transmitted independently? Btw, did you choose to release your scores after the test or during the exam? This seems to be affecting only those applicants who released their scores in writing after the exam. I wish someone would tell us what the real deal is.

When I called AMCAS, the "specialist" told me that sometimes the MCAT scores aren't transmitted at the same time as the AMCAS application...but it's hard to believe anything these supposed "specialists" say.

md2be...i did not release my scores on test day. i sent a letter in early june. i think that it's people in similar situations that have the problem. from my understanding, joy said that the problem would be fixed and the scores transmitted in the next couple days. my application is already complete and verified, so that's not the problem. i'm calling amcas today and will call joy next week sometime. hope it helps.

Hey Bruno, I'm just curious as to how they're going to transmit our apps electronically when the vast majority of schools are still not able to receive any electronic transmissions from AMCAS? I was under the impression that this was going to take a lot longer than a few days. At this point, I just don't believe anything AMCAS says. Well, I hope it all works out for you. None of us should have to deal with this kind of incompetence. AMCAS is an insult to the entire medical establishment.

md2be..well, i just called amcas. they had my scores on file. the specialist said that she would put in a request and the scores would be forwarded again to all my schools. it is a separate process though; the request is through the mcat department. i'm not sure if it'd fly without a verified app though. anyway, i was under the impression that most schools are receiving the transmissions from amcas just slowly. but what do i know. most if not all of my schools have an app from amcas that can be evaluated. anyway, best of luck.
