Ok since it appears that all the Boston housing threads were old, I decided to start another one. I'm hoping I'm not the only person looking for a roomate right now.

I'm a 23/M/non smoker entering the BU MAMS program this fall. I'm looking for preferably other MAMS students to room with to keep the costs down. Anyone else looking for an extra roomate or a roomate in general to find a place with? Let me know and feel free to post anyone else looking for housing in Boston.

Haha well so far this thread has been a success.

Have you tried contacting the Office of Housing Resources at BU to find an apartment? The link to their website is on the BU GMS webpage. They send out an email every week with listings of GMS students with housing looking for roommates for next year which is really helpful so I would definitely call and get on that list if you aren't already (that's how I found my apartment/roommate) and also they have a roommate search you can look through for a roommate. I found them to be really helpful. Good Luck!

OP - get acquainted with Craigslist - it is widely used in Boston.

Yes, craigslist is a great way to go in Boston. You'll find tons of people looking to fill rooms all over the city, a large number of them students.

Hi there. I'm going to be in BU's MAMS program starting in late August/early Sept. Was wondering if anyone who knows boston and the SOUTH END could let me know where exactly i should avoid looking for places because of unsafe areas. I would like to be within 5 (maybe 10) min. walking distance of BU Medical Center. I have found a few places on craigslist and through realtors that fit this requirement, but I want to make sure I don't live somewhere sketchy. Would it be best to stay east of Mass Ave?? I think I saw someone say that in an archived post. Thanks for any help you can provide.
