Hello all. I have started a fundraising organization for the cancer center at the local high school, currently it only is taking place at my former high school and current college. My question is this considered in any way a medical experience? I only ask because this is where my application is hurting big time (only ~100 hours combined shadowing/hospital volunteering). I know it isn't clinical patient contact experience, just coordinating fundraisers and such, but does this show my interest in medicine? Thanks.

No, that falls under "Leadership"- good leadership if you manage to make an impact with your fund raising efforts. However, I wouldn't waste time doing too much of that if you don't have any clinical experience (i.e shadowing, volunteering at a hospital, etc) as that is a must when applying to pretty much every medical school (except for probably the research oriented ones in the top ten). It doesn't show an interest in medicine, just an ability to organize and coordinate, and leadership. Hope that helps.
