New credit card for app cycle?

Any recommendations for specific travel/freq flyer credit cards for the application cycle? Ideally would open something up that rewards traveling. Advice would be great!

Delta AMEX or Southwest VISA. Use the AMEX card for paying secondaries and other costs in the first few months and you have points for 2 round tickets. Not sure about SW but they should have something similar.

I'm really interested in Delta as I fly with them often already. But from what I understand Delta AMEX is American Express, and ironically... my first secondary I received indicates that they only accept Visa or MasterCard...

Hahahaha that's right I forgot. I primarily use the AMEX as I fly Delta but I used the American Airlines Mastercard for secondaries.

So does that mean most (or all) secondaries require Visa or MasterCard? The two I've gotten so far both do.

Seems like the Chase Sapphire isn't specific to any airline, like other cobranded ones, which would work well. Thank you!

when you get into a school, you can also reward yourself by traveling out if the states and use the sapphire with no foreign transaction fees
