New Emergency Medicine Residency Program in NY

Hello everyone!

We'd like to extend an invitation for more students to apply for an EM residency position that is not yet available on ERAS.

The HealthQuest EM Residency Program with a primary clinical training site at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY will be reviewed for accreditation by the ACGME RRC-EM in January, 2020. We are optimistic that we will be successful in receiving initial accreditation at that time and in anticipation of that, we will begin interviews for an inaugural class to start July 2020.

We are not able to participate in ERAS yet but we are accepting applications via e-mail that must include the following:

1. Letters of Recommendation
2. CV
3. Personal statement
4. Dean's letter
5. USMLE scores
*Sending a copy of your common ERAS applications is encouraged.

Yes. You can ask the letter writers to send their letters directly to the emails provided in the message above.

Do you acknowledge receipt of complete applications? Had sent an application with SLOE emails from mentors, but never got an acknowledgment yet. Just wondering if there was any incomplete documentation.

As of now, we don’t have a process to confirm with applicants that their applications are complete.

If you’ve sent in all the necessary documents and can confirm with your letter writers that the LoR/SLOEs have been sent, that should suffice. If by some chance we’d like to invite you to an interview but your application is incomplete, we will contact you directly.
