Hello everyone.

I am currently a student at the College of New Rochelle in New York City. I WAS, and I emphasize was, majoring in Nursing but with the support of my loving girlfriend, I have decided I want to become a doctor of anesthesia. I know that field is very difficult to get into but I was hoping if someone, if everyone, can help me with information on what I'd have to focus on when I transfer schools. I'm thinking about transferring to Hunter College for my pre-med courses and try to get into either John Hopkins, Columbia, Mount Sinai or NYU's graduate program.

If you guys can give me ANY information at all, it would be greatly appreciated it.

Thank you.

Posts like this make no sense, and all of your questions can be answered via a 3 minute Google/SDN search. You take the premed prereqs, take the MCAT, and then apply to medical schools. That's it (besides volunteering, shadowing, research, etc.). Also, no need to 'decide' on a specialty this early on in the process. GL.

This forum is full of every bit of information you'll need, reiterated a thousand times over. Don't mind people who bother you for not using the terrible search function on your first day on this forum. The best thing to do would be to google the topics of your questions, like "SDN 2015 MCAT". Google works better than our search function, most of the time. Dig around and spend some time answering your own questions and if you get stumped, you could start a new thread (not too many, please) or gingerly resurrect an old one covering a similar topic. Most everyone is more than happy to help.
